Plant Configurations

  Wastewater Treatment

Acelera is offering affordable wastewater E-beam treatment plants for applications in municipal wastewater treatment as well as in residual water management. The RWA-based plants are compact, affordable and can safely and efficiently treat wastewater making it more cost effective than conventional disinfection techniques.

The basic plant configuration consists of a wastewater transport system, a RWA irradiation system and an associated radiation shield. The high electric efficiency of the RWA makes wastewater treatment economically superior to that obtained with competing disinfection technologies.  Additionally, unlike traditional disinfection processes which rely on chlorination and use of chemicals, no toxic or hazardous by-products result from RWA-plants.

  Flue Gas Remediation

Acelera is using its rotating-wave accelerator as the electron source for flue gas remediation.  A simple and cost-effective configuration is utilized to provide a high-power, self-scanned electron beam technology to remove sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from stack gases.

  Food Processing

Acelera has begun offering turn-key solutions for food irradiation.  Working with our partners, MTI provides complete electron beam irradiation facilities to treat food items.

RWA|
The rotating-wave accelerator is a compact and high-power electron accelerator that allows efficient acceleration of electrons to high velocities.

Linac|
The linear accelerator produces high energy electrons through the use of a traveling-wave accelerating structure.
